Charlotte Butterfield
(Runner-up, 2016)

A freelance journalist who lives in Dubai, Butterfield earned a second book deal for A Beautiful Day for a Wedding which was published in July 2018.

Farzeen Ashik
(Runner-up, 2017)

Ashik spent some of her best childhood years in a boarding school in Ooty, India. Her writing is inspired by her personal experiences. Rainbow Dorm Diaries: the Yellow Dorm is her first book.

Karen Osman
(Winner, 2016)

A Dubai-based journalist and editor, Osman’s crime-thriller, The Good Mother, earned her a three-book deal with Head of Zeus following her 2016 win.

Tamsin Winter
(Runner-up, 2015)

A teacher, Winter is the author of the young adult novel Being Miss Nobody, which was published by Usborne as a result of the Emirates LitFest Writing Prize, formerly known as the Montegrappa Writing Prize.

Lucy Strange
(Runner-up, 2014)

A teacher, Strange is the author of the award-winning children’s fantasy novel, The Secret of Nightingale Wood, her entry for the Emirates LitFest Writing Prize, formerly known as the Montegrappa Writing Prize.

Annabel Kantaria
(Winner, 2013)

A Daily Telegraph Expat blogger, Kantaria is the author of Coming Home, which won the inaugural Emirates LitFest Writing Prize, when it was formerly known as the Montegrappa Writing Prize, and her follow up, The Disappearance.

Rachel Hamilton
(Runner-up, 2013)

A runner-up in 2013’s inaugural Montegrappa Fiction Competition, Hamilton’s debut novel is The Case of the Exploding Loo. She’s also the author of the Unicorn in New York series.

Jessica Jarlvi
(Runner-up, 2016)

Jarlvi’s novel When I Wake Up won her place in the top five of the 2016 Emirates LitFest Writing Prize, formerly known as the Montegrappa Writing Prize, as well as a subsequent book deal with Aria.
