Free Student Sessions

In 2019, the Festival’s exciting Free Student Sessions will take place on Sunday 3 March and Monday 4 March.

Students attending on Sunday 3 March can participate in Live Art 2019.

All sessions will be held at the InterContinental Event Centre, Dubai Festival City. Attending students can participate in Live Art 2019 before or after being seated for the author session.

We will do our upmost to accommodate as many schools as possible but please note that ticket numbers are generally limited. Many schools choose to bring specific groups of students such as reluctant readers or book competition winners.

In reserving tickets, schools accept responsibility for ensuring their students are safely transported to and from the event, and arrive at the event by the specified time.

Please submit your requests for Free Student Sessions by Monday 3 December 2018 through the form below. We will send an acknowledgement of your request by email immediately, and final confirmation of the number of tickets that we are able to allocate to each school will be given in January 2019.

Tickets can only be reserved through our website. However, individual queries should be directed to julie.hannawi@emirateslitfest.com

What our teachers are saying

“Flawless. It helped the students to think out of the box, and how to create a story from a small toy or daily life events. Meeting Philip Ardagh, the famous author, was a pleasure. Students learnt a lot and enjoyed the event.”

Karishma Dodani, Teacher, The Kindergarten Starters

“They LOVED it. They found Anthony Horowitz hilarious and it INSPIRED them to want to write. They all bought books and were reading them the next day. It was lovely to see.”

Frances Phillips, English Teacher, Jumeirah College

“Jacqueline Wilson was very lovely and was able to engage the kids with her amazing words. The answers given to the students’ queries were indeed motivational and have inspired them to be better writers.”

Lekshmi Saseendran, English Teacher, Arab Unity School
