Emirates Literature Foundation is delighted to host one of today’s finest novelists, Leila Aboulela, as she discusses her latest book Bird Summons in an intimate setting. Bird Summons is a tale of belonging and identity as three women discover what it really means to be Muslim and a British immigrant, whilst on a road trip to the Scottish Highlands. The critically-acclaimed Sudanese-born author will delve into her experience of moving between different cultures and the influence of her Muslim faith. Leila Aboulela has won the Caine Prize for African Writing, the Scottish Book Award and the Saltire Fiction Book of the Year Award.
