Fans of literature and film, we have a treat for you. The Festival and DIFF are back with another Great Adaptation, this time from award-winning writer Ian McEwan.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of his Man Booker shortlisted book On Chesil Beach, director Dominic Cooke brings us McEwan’s tale of Florence (played by Oscar-nominee Saoirse Ronan) and Edward (Billy Howle), a couple very much in love, but whose decisions in the summer of 1962 will resonate throughout their lives.

Following the screening, join us for a unique ‘in-conversation’ with the film’s director as he tells us about the experience of adapting a successful book for the screen.

If you are looking for a tender, romantic film to end the year, be sure to catch this one.
